[GP: POLICE LAUNCH MANHUNT FOLLOWING FATAL SHOOTING IN WESTBURY] Gauteng police have launched a manhunt for two suspects following a fatal shooting incident in Westbury, Johannesburg District, on Monday, 07 September 2026. It is reported that police received a complaint of a shooting incident at approximately 08:10. Upon arrival, police found a 53-year-old scholar transport driver with multiple gunshot wounds. It is alleged that the victim had just dropped off school children and was about to park his vehicle at a flat in Westbury when two unknown men approached him and opened fire. The victim was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. The suspects fled the scene in a blue Volkswagen Polo. The motive for the shooting is unknown at this stage. Sophiatown #SAPS HAS opened a case of murder. No arrests have been made, and police investigations are continuing.
