[REPEAT OFFENDER ARRESTED IN SEKGAKGAPENG VILLAGE AS POLICE SEIZE DRUGS WORTH OVER R34 000]
A coordinated intelligence-led tactical operation conducted by Mahwelereng Detectives and Crime Prevention Unit resulted in the arrest of a 27-year-old male suspect for dealing in drugs at Sekgakgapeng village in the early hours of Friday, 07 August 2026 at about 06:00.
The operation targeted a residence linked to alleged drug dealing in the area and police acted swiftly. Police identified and raided a residence of a 27-year-old male suspected of supplying drugs.
Upon searching the premise, police discovered five wraps of Rock drugs containing 493 individual packets with an estimated street value of R34 510-00.
An additional R6 200-00 in cash suspected to be proceeds from drug sales was also recovered from the suspect during the search.
The 27-year-old male suspect was immediately arrested on the spot and charged with dealing in drugs.
Further investigations revealed that the suspect was already out on bail for a similar drug-related offence and was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, 26 August 2026.
“This arrest demonstrates our commitment to ridding our communities of drugs. We will not tolerate repeat offenders who continue to peddle narcotics while out on bail. I applaud the members for their vigilance and swift action” concluded the Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo Lieutenant General Jan Scheepers.
The 27-year-old male suspect is expected to appear before the Mokerong Magistrate court on Tuesday, 11 August 2026 facing another charge of dealing in drugs.
