Hi everyone. I’m hoping someone can assist in identifying the owner of a cat that has repeatedly been entering our property on Pongola Avenue. I am an animal lover and have absolutely no desire to harm or mistreat anyone’s pet. However, I have two very young children who play outside, and I do not know this cat, its history, health or temperament. I therefore cannot simply assume that it poses no risk to them. There is also the concern of droppings being left around the property and my children potentially coming into contact with them. If this cat belongs to someone in the community, I am asking that you please take the necessary steps to prevent it from repeatedly entering our property. I want to be very clear that, while I care about the welfare of animals, the safety and wellbeing of my children will always come first. If the cat continues entering our property, I will contact the SPCA or the appropriate animal-welfare authorities to have it safely removed. And should any animal ever pose an immediate physical threat to my children, I will obviously act to protect them. I sincerely hope it never gets to that point and that we can simply identify the owner and resolve the matter amicably. 🙏🏽
