7-Year-Old Girl Found Murdered in Bultfontein: Police have arrested a 29-year-old man for the murder and rape of a 7-year-old girl in Phahameng, Bultfontein, Free State. The child’s body was discovered underneath a bed inside a shack on Sunday, 9 August. She had injuries to her neck and her pants had been pulled down. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her 14-year-old sister made the horrific discovery after seeing a hand protruding from beneath the bed and alerted their father. Police traced and arrested the suspect at a nearby farm. He is expected to appear in the Bultfontein Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 11 August 2026, facing murder and rape charges.
