An alleged dispute over payment after a sexual encounter has left a 34-year-old man dead and a 23-year-old woman facing a #murder charge in Ha-Mphego outside Thohoyandou.
Vhembe District police spokesperson Constable Pfunzo Ramudzuli says the two allegedly went home together on Wednesday and an argument over money broke out after they had been intimate, during which the woman allegedly stabbed the man with a sharp object in the early hours of Thursday.
In a video circulating on social media, the suspect is claiming that she acted in self-defence and says she did not know him before they met because she is a sex worker.
Ramudzuli says police arrested the 23-year-old woman at the scene after opening a murder case, while investigations into the incident are continuing.
She adds that the suspect is expected to appear in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court today on a charge of #murder. MRF
