[A 53-YEAR-OLD FEMALE SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR TRYING TO BRIBE POLICE MEMBER WITH R4 000 IN CASH TO SECURE HUSBAND’S RELEASE AT MANKWENG POLICE STATION] A 53-year-old female suspect is expected to appear in court after she allegedly attempted to bribe a police member at the Mankweng Community Service Centre (CSC). It is alleged that on Saturday, 29/08, at about 21:30, a police Constable was on duty when the woman allegedly offered the member R4 000 in exchange for the release of her husband, who was in police custody in connection with a charge of dealing in dagga. The Constable warned the suspect that her conduct was unlawful. Despite the warning, the suspect allegedly removed the cash from her pocket and forcefully placed it into the Constable’s hands. The member immediately apprehended the suspect for bribery. The 53-year-old female suspect is expected to appear before the Mankweng Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 31/08, facing a charge of bribery of a police member. #fightingcrime #SapsZeroTolerance
