Motivated Dugong: [LEBOWAKGOMO POLICE LAUNCH MANHUNT AFTER BRAZEN BUSINESS ROBBERY AT A LOCAL SECONDARY SCHOOL]
The #SAPS in Lebowakgomo have launched an intensive manhunt for three armed male suspects following a brazen business robbery incident at a local Secondary school in Maraleng village in the early hours of Wednesday 13 August 2026 at about 00:15.
It is reported that, a security officer was inside one of the classrooms with two colleagues when they heard a knock on the door and a male voice ordering them to open.
The security officer asked who they were and what they wanted. The suspects demanded that the door be opened but the security personnel refused. Afterward, the male suspects suddenly fired a shot through the door.
They opened the door after fearing they would be shot. Afterward, three unknown male suspects wearing balaclavas entered and tied the security officers.
Two male suspects went outside while one remained to guard the security officers. The trio then heard the sound of a grinder coming from the school’s office block. The unknown male suspect guarding them later left to join his accomplices.
The security officers managed to untie themselves and found a cellphone that had been taken to the office block. They immediately contacted the school Principal to report the incident.
During further inspection, it was established that the suspects stole school property valued at more than R70.000 including 5 laptops, 3 projectors, 2 boxes of markers, and a large quantity of cellular phones.
A case of business robbery has been opened and police have launched a manhunt for the unknown male suspects.
