[A STING OPERATION RESULTS IN THE APPREHENSION OF TWO ALLEGED EXTORTIONISTS FROM GQEBERHA] Two alleged extortionists are expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday following their arrest during a sting operation on Friday, 28 August 2026. Various SAPS units in the Western Cape executed the operation at a golf club in Parow. The suspects had allegedly been demanding #extortion fees from a security company owner since May 2026, threatening to kill him, his family and employees. He reported the threats and opened a case of extortion at Wynberg SAPS. A multidisciplinary sting operation was henceforth orchestrated. An arrangement was made with the suspects, who travelled from Gqeberha and demanded that the victim pay for their accommodation. On Friday, 28 August 2026, at about 09:30, the duo arrived at the agreed-upon venue in a white Toyota Etios to collect the extortion money. Shortly after the exchange, both suspects, aged 35 and 47, were arrested for extortion. #fightingcrime #TrioCrimes
