SOL PLAATJE MUNICIPALITY PUBLIC NOTICE: WEDNESDAY 05 AUGUST 2026 | 16:00 ⚠️ UPDATE 2: TEMPORARY WATER SUPPLY INTERRUPTION - KIMBERLEY SUBURBIA Latest Update: Repair work on the leaking section of pipe has proven to be a daunting task as Mechanical and Waterworks teams are still on site. The leaking section of the 450 mm diameter steel pipe has been cut off. Teams will now utilise Viking Johnson couplings to join the pipe. Reason for Water Interruption: Burst pipe in Waterworks Street, Newpark. New Estimated Time of Restoration: Repair work to be completed this evening, around 20:00. Pumps at Newton Reservoirs will be switched on upon completion of repair work. Impact: Residents in the high-lying areas are experiencing low tap pressure to no flow.
