Cape Town Shootings: Friday, 31 July: At least five people were killed and one person was wounded in separate shooting incidents across Cape Town on Friday. The fatal shootings were reported in: Hanover Park – Man shot dead in Lugano Court. Belhar – Man gunned down inside a barber shop in Bloemendal Avenue. Clarke Estate, Elsies River – Person shot and killed in Muldersdrift Court, Old Stellenbosch Road. Wallacedene, Kraaifontein – Man shot dead inside a shop in Thakadu Street (Phase 2). Montague Village, Lavender Hill – Man killed in St Christopher Avenue. A sixth shooting was reported in Wallacedene, Kraaifontein, where an individual was shot in Tioomi Street (Phase 9).
